Christmas 2010
Yes folks- I am a little behind. I am just getting Christmas pictures posted- Enjoy! Better late than never right!
These were just a few of my favorites! I love how great these two kids are together. Trey really liked the paper and ribbons and Nora loved her presents!

YES!! We are still alive!
After a long time away, I am back and want to try to do better with this whole blogging thing. Things have been changing around our house a lot the last year and we are finally settling in to the changes. So I feel like I have a little more time for the things I like to do.
Our biggest change has been the addition of our little guy to our family. Trey was born in July and has been such a blessing us. I can't believe how complete our family feels. He is the sweetest little boy! He is super happy all the time, unless that darn reflux is acting up. Thank goodness for medicines! I can't believe that he is 6 months old (as of yesterday), had two teeth, is sitting up alone, rolling all over the place and is eating solid food! He changes so much each day! I thank God everyday for him and his amazing smile!
Another big change is that my baby girl (ok so she is not a baby anymore) started Kindergarten! I can't believe that she is old enough to be in school. She has done great with everything related to school. She loves to go and always has so much to tell me about everyday. She is keeping everyone in line around that place. She is such a little rule follower (just like her momma) and makes sure that everyone is towing the line at all times- including me! She has gotten excellent remarks on her report cards both quarters and we are so proud of how smart she is. Her little mind amazes me all the time. She is reading at a 1st grade level and her new love is chapter books. I love sharing my favorite books with her! No, not Harry Potter yet and not Twilight for many years, but I do have other books I love that are appropriate!
She also started playing soccer this year. She is doing great! She loves to play and that is what is the most important thing in my book. Her team is the Pink Power and she takes great pride in that name. She has been doing gymnastics too but we took a semester off that because we needed to slow it down a bit. We will start it up again in the summer if she wants. She is an amazing a big sister and just adores her little brother. She loves to play with him and make him laugh. She gets upset when he is sad and gets so excited when he does something new. I love to watch the two of them together!
Tommy continues to stay super busy with residency and all his projects he does. He has been great with doing stuff to the house the last year. We completely redid the basement and he most all the work himself. We had a little help with the electricity a few times and my awesome dad painted some for us but he did the rest by himself. He amazes me because he seriously can figure pretty much anything out- as long as it is related to medicine or construction!!! I am one lucky lady to have such an on-the-go hubby. He gets so much done in a day! Yes- that is Trey's crib that he made! He finally got it done when Trey was 4 months old- better late than never right.
I can't really say much about residency because it is not my day to day experience but I think that it is going as well as a residency can.n. It has good days and bad days. Tough hours and lots of stress but overall, he is doing great. He is still at it and I am proud of the doctor his is!
As for me, other than growing another human being and giving birth, not much has changed for me. I am still taking care of the house, paying the bills, doing laundry, being a mother and a wife. My biggest change is that I am teaching so much more and I love it! I have been working with the Caring for Kids program at St. Louis Community College for the last 2 years. I teach continuing education classes for child care providers. It works great because it is only a few times a month and is in the evenings and some weekends. However, this semester, I am also teaching a Math and Science class at the College. I am super excited and really nervous about it. It is a 3 hour credit course but only meets once a month. Interesting schedule but I think it will work out great. Time will tell!
Sorry no picture of me. I have no recent ones with me in them- how sad is that!!! Oh yeah- the family picture on blog page- there I am!!

I know I know...
I have been really bad at blogging lately. I swear I will be better! I guess that the easiest thing to say it I have been adjusting to our new life in this new city.
Here are some of the highlights from the last few months.
Pumpkin patch
Halloween- Nora was Sleeping Beauty and Zie was Ariel
Nora was Mrs. Claus in her school Christmas play
We had a fantastic Christmas!
We saw Disney on Ice! Nora was in heaven!
My niece Grace was born on New Years Eve! Nora thinks she is great!
Nora found a new career as a model. Watch out world- here is America's Next Top Model!
So in a nutshell- those are the highlights of our lives the last few months. See you really did not miss much at all!

The real reason I have been absent from blogging for so long............
I was bitten and have been reading and rereading! I have also been watching the movie- too many times to count and listening to the music insistently! Didn't my playlist give me away?I can't help it- I am a total addict!
Anyhoo- that is your update and I really will be more faithful about keeping up.

Pioneer days
At school this month, Nora's class is doing Pioneer Days. They are making little covered wagons, having a Feast Day and dressing like pioneers among lots of other stuff. Today, she was supposed to dress like a pioneer. I got the outfit from my aunt. She was really excited and I thought she looked pretty cute. I braided her hair which was a really experience. Braiding curly hair- that is fun! But in the end, it worked out and I think she looks like she should be in a log cabin or running in a big field!

Fair Fun!
Yup- still catching up on my blogging! Sorry!
This is from our fun trip to Cape for the day when the SEMO District Fair was happening. This is an annual event in Cape. It is a big deal and I love going. I did not get to go many years while we lived in Kirksville but I went every year until we moved there. It was fun to take Nora and watch her in the same environment that I was in. Oh- lots of memories from the Fair!
Anyway, she of course had a blast. She has her group of me, my mom, my dad, two of my aunts, and my cousin all there just to watch her ride some rides. She also got Cotton Candy out of the deal as well as riding as many rides as she wanted because my parents bought her the bracelet that allowed for unlimited rides. Funny- I don't remember getting that bracelet!
We also feed the animals but that did not go over well with my little girlie who hates to have her hands dirty- much less licked by some animal. It was quite funny though!
Her favorite ride by far was the caterpillar roller coaster. She rode that thing 9 times that night. She just kept asking to ride it. She made a little friend on it and they had to ride it together every time. I would never have thought that she would have loved it so much.
We had tons of fun and ate lots of yummy food. What else do you do at the fair!

PBS Fun!!
A couple of months ago, September to be exact, we went to Arthur's Picnic in the Park with some friends. We were there for about 4 hours and the following pictures are the general idea of what we did the entire time. There were some bounce houses too but the lines were so long for them as well that the kids only got to do one house. Really most of the time standing in line to see the many PBS characters that Nora loves. Here are the pictures that I have been trying to post from that trip.
